What this estimate includes
The tool applies the 2026/27 standard Personal Allowance and its taper above £100,000, the selected nation’s non-savings Income Tax bands and category A employee National Insurance. It estimates annual deductions and divides net pay by 12.
What it leaves out
This first version does not calculate pensions, student loans, bonuses, benefits in kind, Marriage Allowance or other income. It also does not reproduce every payroll-period rounding rule. Do not use it to check a complex payslip or submit payroll.
Check the tax year
The selected rules apply from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027. The tool should be reviewed before the next tax year; stale sensitive content is removed from public publication by the review gate.
Common questions
Why does my payslip differ?
Your tax code, pension, student loans, variable pay or payroll rounding can change deductions.
Can I use this for self-employment?
No. It models employee salary and category A National Insurance only.
